PACIFIC COMICS ART FESTIVAL
Explore the unique storytelling medium that has become the fastest-growing segment of publishing. Marian Churchland (“Beast”), Brandon Graham (“King City”) and Simon Roy (“Prophet”), three breakout local artist-writers published by California’s Image Comics, the leading publisher of creator-owned material, discuss the special aspects of creating sequential stories as well as how they got their start in the business. Then they join veteran DC and Marvel artist Ken Steacy and autobio/graphic novelist Joan Steacy, along with members of Vancouver’s Cloudscape Comics Society (who have just released their anthology, “Giants Of Main Street”) for a Meet The Creators workshop of one-on-one meetings about their comics and work presented by attendees.
